Dorothy Sandrock

 

PRINCETON – Dorothy M. Sandrock, 91, formerly of Tampico, died Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Orchard View Nursing Home, Princeton. She was employed by Sullivan’s Bakery, Prophetstown, for a number of years.

Mrs. Sandrock was born May 10, 1919, in New Bedford, the daughter of Thorwald and Anna Lois (Miller) Nelson. She married Harry Sandrock on Oct. 18, 1937, in Rockford. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1987. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Yorktown.

She is survived by two sons, Larry (Joyce) Sandrock of Tampico and Lee (Dawn) Sandrock of Rock Falls; one sister, Jeanette Franks of Prophetstown; one brother, Charles (Beulah) Nelson of Polo; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Loren Sandrock; one child in infancy; one brother, Don Nelson, and one grandson-in-law, Richard Link.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Garland Funeral Home, Tampico, with the Rev. Brian Moore, pastor of First Christian Church of Walnut, officiating. Burial will be at Yorktown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday 10 to 11 a.m. at Garland Funeral Home, Tampico.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her memory.
