Charles A. Foy, 48, Rock Falls, Dies

Charles A. Foy of 1314 Ave. A., Rock Falls, died early Thursday in Hines Veteran Hospital, Hines, Ill., at the age of 48.

Mr. Foy was born in Tampico Nov. 25, 1916, the son of Walter and Maude Harrington Foy.  He served in the Navy in World War II and had been employed at Eberhardt's Body Shop as a body repairman.  He was united in marriage to Evelyn M. Barry on October 11, 1946 at Rochester, N.Y., and moved to Sterling 18 years ago.  He was a member of the Rock Falls Eagles.

Mr. Foy is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James (Janet) Courtright, Rockford, Mrs. Jimmie (Kathryn) Stedman, Rock Falls; one son, Albert Foy, Sterling; his father, Walter B. Foy of Round Grove; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Marie) Baker of Walnut, and Mrs. Victor (Verla) Anderson of Sacramento, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his mother and his wife, Evelyn, in October of 1963.

Prayer services will be a 9 a.m. Monday at the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home and requiem mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday where the Rock Falls Eagles will conduct services at 7 p.m. Sunday and the rosary will be recited a 8 p.m. Sunday evening.

Military rites will be conducted by Rock Falls American Legion Post 902.
