CORA  A.  (Hilger)  WENDLING

Prophetstown: - Cora A. Wendling, 99, formerly of Joliet and Geneseo, died Dec. 18, 1993 at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown.   Cremation rites have been accorded.  Inurnment will take place at Hooppole Cemetery at a later date.

Mrs. Wendling was born Oct. 9, 1894 in Hooppole, the daughter of Edward and Caroline (Arnold) Hilger. She married Otis Wendling Jan. 30, 1913 in Pocahontas, Iowa.  The couple lived in Joliet for many years until moving to Geneseo in 1972.  He died in 1980.  She was a member of the Church of God, Joliet, where she taught Sunday school and served as pianist.

Survivors include one sister, Mabel Vetter of Prophetstown; two nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers.
