THOMAS  H.  HENNEGAN

Sterling: - Thomas H. Hennegan, 71, of 211  11th Ave., Sterling, died Sunday evening, Feb. 14 in Community General Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning with a prayer service at the Allen Funeral Home in Sterling at 10:15 a.m. following by the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sterling celebrated by Father Thomas Bales. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Tampico. Visitation will be at the Allen Funeral Home in Sterling, Tuesday, 9 to 10:15 a.m.

Mr. Hennegan was born on Sept. 23, 1916 in Chicago, the son of Harry and Gertrude Wehde Hennegan. He was educated in Chicago schools and was an Alumni of DePaul University in Chicago.  He was united in marriage to Margaret Dougherty on Aug. 7, 1954 in Lincoln.  He was an executive in the field of consumer finance in California, Georgia, and Illinois, retiring 10 years ago. The family moved here from South Windsor, Conn., two years ago.  He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Sterling.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two sons, Thomas R. Hennegan of Skokie, and Michael S. Hennegan of Dallas, Texas; and two daughters, Mrs. John (Susan) Thaxter of Dallas, Texas and Mrs. Edward (Marianne) Lorenz of Rockford; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Elliott (Marie) Leininger of Chicago; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Tim.
