CLARENCE  G.  ACKLAND

Prophetstown: - Clarence G. Ackland, 80 of Rural Route 3 in Prophetstown died Saturday in his home.  Funeral services were this morning at 11 a.m. in the First Lutheran Church of Prophetstown with Rev. Richard Dow officiating.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown. The Gardner Funeral Home in Prophetstown was in charge of arrangements.  A memorial has been established.

Clarence was born on Nov. 16, 1905, in Amboy, the son of George and Anna Newman Ackland.  On Sept. 15, 1928 he was united in marriage to Alice Hinrichs of Rock Falls at the Immanuel Lutheran Church.  He was educated in Amboy schools and resided in Rock Falls until moving to present home in 1958.  The deceased was retired from Northwestern Steel and Wire where he had worked as boiler fireman.

Survivors include his wife, Alice, one daughter, Mrs. Carlyle (Audry) Sandrock of Prophetstown, four grandchildren and three great grandsons.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
