PHILLIP  DAVID  MORATH

Tampico: - Phillip David Morath, 18, 204 South Lincoln St., Tampico, died early Sunday morning in Community General Hospital, Sterling, from injuries sustained in an auto accident a half mile south of Tampico late Saturday evening.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Tampico United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brad Wilson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Tampico Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the Garland Funeral home, Tampico, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  A memorial has been established in his memory to the Tampico United Methodist Church.

Phillip Morath was born on Jan. 29, 1966 in Sterling the son of Dennis P. and Vernice M. Wasson Morath.  He was a senior high school student at Tampico High School at the time of his death.  He was a member of the Tampico United Methodist Church and active in Tampico High School Scholastic Bowl.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Morath, three sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Melissa) Wilcoxen, Buda;  Mrs. John (Marcia) Widolff, Tampico, and Michelle Morath, at home; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Charlotte Wasson, RocK Falls, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Morath, Sterling, and his maternal great grandmother, Mrs. Vernice Runnells, Wyoming.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandfather, William Wells.
