SCOTT  A.  J.  HERMES (with picture)

Sterling: - Scott A. J. Hermes, 22, of 1801  19th Ave., died Wednesday in his home.  Funeral services will be Saturday, with a 9:30 a.m. prayer service at the Grennan Funeral Home, followed by a mass of the resurrection at 1i0 a.m. at Heart Catholic Church, with the Revs. Francis McDonnell and Thomas Bales officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a wake service at 7:30 p.m.  Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Tampico.  A memorial has been established to muscular dystrophy or to a family choice.

Mr. Hermes was born April 13, 1968 in Sterling, son of Thad and Marilyn Hedrick Hermes. He attended Madison Grade School in Dixon for the handicapped and was a 1987 graduate of Sterling High School.

He is survived by his mother, Marilyn, Sterling; father, Thad, San Diego; two sisters, Mrs. Anthony (Stephanie) Ford, Sterling, Sara Hermes, Sterling; maternal grandmother, Florence L. Hendrick of Bloomington, Ind.; paternal grandmother, Helen (Burke) Hermes, Sterling; one niece and nephew, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
