Evelyn Kowalski

PROPHETSTOWN – Evelyn M. Kowalski, 78, of Prophetstown, formerly of LaSalle, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at home. She was a registered nurse at Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru, for 25 years, retiring in 1994.

Evelyn was born May 11, 1932, in LaSalle, the daughter of Anton and Pauline (Krolak) Kowalski.

She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, Prophetstown.

Survivors include one brother, Robert (Marilyn) Kowalski of Prophetstown.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Prophetstown, with Monsignor Thomas Dzielak, celebrant, officiating. Burial will be at St. Vincent Cemetery, LaSalle. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements were completed by McDonald Funeral Home, Prophetstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to St. Catherine Catholic Church, Prophetstown, and the American Lung Association.
