JOSEPHINE  EDNA  (Winchell)  VAN DE VELDE

Josephine Edna, October 1, 1906 to February 22, 2006, wife of the late Herbert A. Van De Velde, the long time resident of Kindersley, SK, died peacefully in her 100th year.

Jo is survived by her brother Edwin E. Winchell of New Westminster, BC; sisters-in-law: Doris Van De Velde of Texas, Mary-Jean (Wilbert) Egert of Ill., Joann (Judd) Doty of Ill., Lorene Van De Velde of Ill., all in the USA; and was loving mother to Patricia (Albert) Layton and Judith (Victor) Pearson and many grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Known by many as "Grandma Jo," she was a farmer who was well known for her love of horses, agriculture, poetry, quilting, music, cooking, hunting and travel. She was an active member of St. Mary's Anglican Church and a 4-H Beef Club leader for over 15 years.  Jo loved to entertain at coffee parties and never missed an opportunity to play a game of cards or tell a funny story.  Her love of life and sense of adventure will be missed by all.
