Tampico - Joseph G. Heeren, age 58 of Sierra Vista, Arizona formerly of Tampico, Illinois
Passed away on Friday July 15, 2011 at the Tucson University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona.


Joseph was born on May 20, 1953 in Princeton, Ilinois, the son of Francis and Mildred (Southard) Heeren. Joseph married Pamela (Dunn) Heeren, with whom he raised four children; they were later divorced and Joseph spent the last five years of his life with his companion Doris Jacobsen of Sierra Vista. She survives as do his four children Amy (Ben) Poci of Sterling, Illinois, Marcia (Tom) Miller of Danville, Illinois, Andy (Cathy) Heeren of Kewanne, Illinois, and Mark Heeren of Prophetstown, Illinois; five grandchildren Abriana and Vincent Poci of Sterling, Illinois, Josie, Haley and Clark Heeren of Kewanee, Illinois; His parents Francis and Mildred Heeren of Sierra Vista, Arizona; six sisters Nancy Kline, Mary Dudek, Ann Heeren, Maggie (Dave) Seddell, Christina (Chris) Maloof, and Joan Heeren; Numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother Michael Heeren.

Joseph retired from Penberthy in Prophetstown. He enjoyed traveling with Doris, hot air ballooning, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and his evening happy hour with his parents and Doris.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial service will be held on Saturday July 23, at 4PM at Garland Funeral Home Tampico with Dennis Morath, lay speaker from The First United Methodist Church of Tampico officiating. A Visitation will be held on Saturday July 23, from 2 to 4 PM at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS A MEMORIAL HAS BEEN ESTABLSHED IN HIS MEMORY.
