ARTHUR  VICTOR  SKARIN

Prophetstown:  - Arthur Skarin, 77, died Saturday evening at Morrison Community Hospital after being a patient for two weeks.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Gardner Funeral Home, Gary Fathing will officiate, and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Gardner Funeral Home Monday from 7-9 p.m.  A memorial has been established in his honor.

Arthur Victor Skarin was born March 1, 1895 at Geneva, the son of John H. and Matilda Olson Skarin. He was educated in Geneva schools.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Cathedral and Kaaba Temple.  He married Mae Louise Larson, in 1917, who died in 1938.  He married Laura Enright in 1939, who died in 1966, and in 1967 he married Irene Beebe.  

Survivors include his widow; three sons, John Alden, Fenton; Gilmore (Bill), Prophetstown, and Dale, Tismo Beach, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Elzeen Webber Murphy, Valrico, Fla.; Mrs. Henry (June) VanWaynberghe, Prophetstown; Mrs. Roy (Joyce) Dickinson, Morrison, and Mrs. Richard (Jean) Sherrer, Erie; four step children, 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, also one brother, Gilbert.

He was preceded in death by one sister.
