Services Held

 Prophetstown:  - Mildred L. Tyler, 77, of 106 Riverside Drive, Prophetstown, died Saturday morning at her home.  Memorial services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational Church with Rev. Daniel Boxwell officiating. Her body was donated to the University of Iowa College of Medicine. A memorial has been established to the Heart Fund.

She was born Aug. 18, 1901 in Orangeville, the daughter of James and Laura Klopp Rote. She was educated in Orangeville and married Wilbur F. Tyle on July 5 1929. The couple moved to Prophetstown in 1933. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, Gold Star Mothers, First Congregational Church, Women's Fellowship Church, and taught Sunday School for many years.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Rowland Kay Farrell of Prophetstown and Nancy L. Tyler of Chicago; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Bowen of Chicago, Mrs. Ruth Reed and Mrs. Drucie Emerick, both of Cedarville.

She was preceded in death by her husband.
