Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. 

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Saturday at Community Baptist Church, Milledgeville, with the Rev. J. Kregg Farmer officiating.

COLETA, Ill. — Donald E. Hollaway, 71, of Coleta, died Monday at his home. 

Burial will be in Oak Knoll Memorial Park. 

He was employed as a crane operator with Northwestern Steel & Wire Co. until he retired. 

He was born April 17, 1936, in Princeton to Thomas E. and Lila E. Forristall Hollaway. He married Helen Resel on Aug. 9, 1967, in Milledgeville, Ill.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Gayla (Carl) Krahl of Milan, Ill., Krista (Larry) Specht of Tampico, Ill., and LouAnn (Ed) Covell of Kasbeer, Ill.; three sons, Thomas Hollaway of Peach Tree City, Ga., Steve (Kathy) Bearsley of Albany, Ill., and Dana Hollaway of Sterling, Ill.; one sister, Debra Sippel of Peoria, Ill.; two brothers, Robert (Joyce) Hollaway of Sterling and Charles Hollaway of Ottawa; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established for Community Baptist Church and Hospice of the Rock River Valley. 

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
