Kirk GWilliams, 51, of rural Prophetstown, died Sunday, September 23, 2012.

Born March 29, 1961 in Sterling, he was a son of Gail and Marilyn (Stanley) Williams. He was united in marriage to Joy Lauritzen on September 20, 1986 in Rock Falls.

Kirk was a truck driver and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid Cubs, Cowboys and Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan.

Surviving are his wife, Joy, of rural Prophetstown; a daughter Katrina Williams (Ken Earl) of Madison, WI; his sons, Gary (Jessica) McElhiney of Tampico, Greg McElhiney (Seantae Piester) and Tony Williams both of Sterling; his sisters Peggy (Ray) Quasius of Kiel, Wisc., Gay (Russ) wescott of Hanover Park and Beth Carolan (Jaye Franks) of Nelson; his brother, Paul (Kendy) Williams of Texas; and his grandchildren, Santana, Emily, Brianna and Nevaeh. His parents and a brother, Jerry Williams preceded him in death.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4-6 PM Thursday, September 27 in McDonald Funeral Home, 46 Grove Street, IL 78 N, Prophetstown. There will be no service. A memorial has been established in his memory.
