CAMANCHE, Iowa -- Services for Walter G. Brown, formerly of 110 21st St., will be noon Monday at the Camanche Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery with full graveside military rites accorded by Camanche Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Brown died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999, at Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown. He worked as a carpenter for many years in the Clinton area, retiring in 1984. Mr. Brown was born Jan. 28, 1924, in Clinton. He married Phyllis Hansen in 1950 in Clinton. During World War II, he served in the Army. He was a Tec 5 with the 36th Division serving in the European Theater. Memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include his wife; sons, Richard, Columbia, S.C., Carl, Pensacola, Fla., and Russell, Tampico, Ill.; a stepson, Harold Hansen, Rock Falls, Ill.; a grandson; seven step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Leonard, Camanche.
