Helen McNeil

STERLING – Helen L. McNeil, 89, of Sterling Pavilion died Thursday, July 28, 2005, at the nursing home. She was employed by McNeil Electric as a bookkeeper.

Mrs. McNeil was born March 26, 1916, in Sterling, the daughter of Harry and Vera (Miller) Marshang. She married Earl R. McNeil on June 15, 1949, in Clinton, Iowa. He died Jan. 22, 1995.

Survivors include two stepdaughters, Bertijeanne Birch Puffett of Mount Vernon, Wash. And LaVonne (Dean Dahlgren of Sterling, a sister, Jeanne (Arnold) Burch of Sterling, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was  preceded in death by a brother, Lyle Marshang.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. Friday at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling, with the Rev. Christine Gilbert of First United Methodist church, Sterling, officiating. Burial is at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. There is no visitation.

Memorials have been established to First United Methodist Church, Sterling. And the Alzheimer’s Association.
