BUREAU CO. MAN DIES IN SATURDAY ACCIDENT – Gazette News Servies

DEER GROVE – A one vehicle accident claimed the life of a rural Bureau County man early Saturday morning and injured his passenger.

James D. Marshang, 22, of Yorktown, was pronounced dead at CGH Medical Center in Sterling by Whiteside County Coroner Joseph P. McDonald after the accident at 3:10 a.m. Saturday on state Route 88 south of Deer Grove.

Marshang’s passenger, Christopher Tornow of Deer Grove, was listed in good condition at CGH Saturday night.

State police said Marshang failed to make a curve while he was south-bound on Route 88, just north of the Bureau County line. Both men were thrown from the truck when it rolled and flipped over several times.
