EFFINGHAM – Daniel R. Swanson, 62, of Effingham, formerly of Dixon, died Monday, June 16, 2014.
He was born Feb. 9, 1952, the son of Carl and Catherine Maxine (McCallister) Swanson. He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his siblings, Vicky Fary of Arkansas, Shirley Chesnek of Illinois, Sharon Cutbirth of New Mexico, and Becky Willworth, Betty Swanson, Richard Swanson, and Cheryl Swanson, all of Illinois; his children, Dana Collins of Kentucky, and Heidi Swanson and Elizabeth Pontious, both of Illinois; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Aaron; and a sister, Mary Winsett.
A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. June 29 at Oakridge Cemetery in Effingham.
