Mrs. Dora B. Ballard, 73, of Erie died Sunday, November 7, in the Morrison Community Memorial hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, in the Church of the Nazarene, Erie, with the Rev. Richard Barriger officiating. Burial was in Sandytown cemetery, Portland, township.  The former Dora Nicely was born in March 16, 1903, in Wheeling, Virginia, the daughter of Charles and Jane Bell Nicely. On August 21, 1921, she was married to George D. Ballard in Geneseo.  He died in 1968. Surviving are four daughters,  Mrs. Richard Harris of Prophetstown, Mrs. William Stephenson of Erie, Mrs. Grace Dersham of St. Charles and Mrs. Leroy Bailey of Chadwick, Illinois: three sons, Wayne, Jerry and Donald, all of Erie: 37 grandchildren: 39 great grandchildren: five sisters, Mrs. Lavinda Nordeen of Rio, Mrs. Kate Stach and Mrs. Esther Vandersnick, both of Geneseo, Mrs. Ruth Wazaski of Arizona, and Mrs. Theodore Lundburgh of Prophetstown, and a brother, Harold Nicely of Moline. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three daughters, a son, six brothers and a sister.
