Mr. Benjamin Wallingford
Wednesday morning May 7, Benjamin Wallingford quietly passed away at his home in Prophetstown in the eighty-second year of his age. His death was cased by heart trouble and a general breaking down resulting from old age.  He was born in Clark County Ohio, Jan. 4 1821.  He was married Jan. 24, 1843 to Sarah E. Whitley, who died Dec. 20, 1901. Since that time his daughter, Mrs. Christian Wallis, of Prophetstown has been taking care of her father.  There were ten children born to this union eight of whom are living.  They are B.S. Wallingford, of  Kemdon, Ohio, Mrs. Mary E. Fuller, of Prophetstown,  W. J. Wallingford of Geneseo, John W. Wallingford of Wadena Minn., Joseph C. Wallingford of Geneseo, Luther S. Wallingford of Spring Hill and Mrs. Rhoda M. Ballard of Erie.  Mr. Wallingford and family came from Ohio to Illinois in 1867 and located near Spring Hill moving to Prophetstown in April 1901, where he has since resided.  The deceased was a quiet, unobtrusive man, a good citizen and was respected by his friends and neighbors.  Funeral services were held at Sandytown church Saturday Rev. E. W. Thompson officiating. Interment was beside his wife in the Sandytown cemetery.
