PROPHETSTOWN – David F. Hansen, 78, of Prophetstown, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at his home. He owned and operated Dave’s Service Station from 1966 to 2004 in Prophetstown.

David was born May 30, 1936, in Sheffield, the son of Irvin and Alta Mae (Hahn) Hansen. He married Alice De May on Aug. 12, 1955, in Hernando, Mississippi.

Survivors include his wife of Prophetstown; two sons, Daniel (Kim) Hansen and Terry (Ally Johnson) Hansen, both of Prophetstown; one sister, Karen (Jim) Wetzell of Sterling; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at McDonald Funeral Home in Prophetstown.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
