LORY WIRTH

LORY WIRTH, 83, of Prophetstown, IL, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.

Lory was born February 7, 1931, in Morrison, IL, to Ralph and Irene (Jobst) Bollman. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a graduate of Lyndon High School in Lyndon, IL. She married Ronald J. Wirth on January 27, 1951 in Prophetstown. He died December 5, 1992. Lory was employed by General Electric in Morrison, and she also farmed with her husband. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Prophetstown, and served as a Sunday school teacher, and also on the church council and property committee.

Survivors include one daughter, Vicki (Russ) Ottens of Lyndon, IL; one son, Rick Wirth of Davenport, IA; four grandsons: Chad (Ashley) Ottens, Troy Ottens, Chris (Kim Shanley) Wirth, Justin (Beth Smothermon) Wirth; four great grandchildren, Alex Ottens, Nathan, Jaedyn and Jordan Wirth.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald; three sisters, June Larson, Marge Mathis and Alda VanBerg; one brother, William R. Bollman.

There will be no funeral service.

Visitation: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home, 320 Lafayette Street, Prophetstown, IL

Officiating: Rev. Kathy Burkheimer – Interim Pastor: First Lutheran Church, Prophetstown, IL

Interment: Fenton Cemetery, Fenton, IL

A memorial to the First Lutheran Church of Prophetstown has been established.
