LOUIS MEYER
FRANKLIN GROVE – Louis H. Meyer, 99, of Franklin Grove, died Wednesday morning at Lee County Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon with Rev. Richard Reigle, pastor of the Bethel Evangelical Congregational Church in Dixon. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Sterling. Visitation will be today from noon-9 p.m. with the family present from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established to the Lee County Nursing Home and the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin Grove. 
Mr. Meyer was born on June 8, 1888 in Minonk, the son of Herman and Henrietta Janssen Meyer. He was united in marriage to Kathryn Irene Daveler in October of 1915 and she preceded him in death in 1920. He was then united in marriage to Florence Esther Thomas on Feb. 3, 1923 in Sterling and she preceded him in death on Feb. 20, 1984. Mr. Meyer had farmed in Franklin Grove for many years prior to retiring and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin Grove.
Survivors include one son, Frank L. of Dixon; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Jeanette) Carter of Danville and Mrs. Robert (Elyda) Mattern of DeKalb; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both wives, two grandchildren, five brothers and three sisters.
