She was born Jan. 15, 1925, in Geneseo to Rollin W. and Blanche E. (Wolf) Harper. She married Willard M. Jacobs on Nov. 11, 1947, in Geneseo. She farmed, along with her husband, in the Erie and Prophetstown areas. Jean was a member of Leon United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Willard; two sons, William “Bill” (Claudia) Jacobs and Randy (Marilyn) Jacobs, both of Prophetstown; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Avis Atwell; and one brother, Laurel Harper.

A private family graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown, with the Rev. Oscar N. Carrasco, pastor of Prophetstown United Methodist Church, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center and Prophetstown United Methodist Church.

Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home in Prophetstown is handling arrangements.
