GENEVIEVE L. WIRTH, 94, of Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown, IL, died Thursday, November 5, 2015, at the center.

Gen was born on December 21, 1920 in Prophetstown, to Fred and Ava (Sibley) Meier. She was educated in the Prophetstown Grade School and attended Prophetstown High School. She married Harley J. Wirth on January 9, 1937 in Erie, IL. He died January 6, 1967. She later married Richard E. Wirth on September 17, 1977, in Hooppole, IL. He died December 31, 2008. Gen was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Prophetstown and belonged to the church’s Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She greatly enjoyed attending the sporting events of her grandchildren and spending time with her family. Gen was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bulls fan.

Survivors include two daughters: Rhonda Stahl of Geneseo, IL and Rita Toppert of Rock Falls, IL; one step daughter, Connie (John) Fisk of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren, Rachel (Justin) Yang, Daniel Stahl, Bryan (Cruzita) Toppert, David (Lori) Toppert, Renee (Bill) Kurtenbach, Rodney (Virginia) Wirth, Reid (Telma) Wirth; four step grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Swanson of Prophetstown; one brother, Marshall Meier of Prophetstown.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harley and Richard; one son, Robert Wirth; one step son, Roger Wirth; one son-in-law, Floyd Toppert; two sisters, Emma Rosenow and one in infancy; three brothers, Russell Meier, Arnold Meier, Fred Meier Jr.

Funeral Information

FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 AM Monday – November 9, 2015 at St. Catherine Catholic Church – Prophetstown, IL

OFFICIATING: Rev. Father Francis Wawryszuk – Pastor: St. Catherine Catholic Church – Prophetstown, IL

VISITATION: 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday – November 8, 2015 at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home – Prophetstown, IL

INTERMENT: Riverside Cemetery – Prophetstown, IL
