Rickie KHosch, 68 of Prophetstown died Thursday, December 31, 2015 at his home.

He was born July 29, 1947 in Cedar Rapids, IA the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Schooly) HoschRickie had retired with the rank of Major with the US Army after having served from October 13, 1966 – July 29, 2007. During which time he served 3 tours of duty in Viet Nam and was awarded the Purple Heart, 4 Bronze Stars, 1 Silver Star, the Viet Nam Service Medal and SWAS Medal. He was a member of the Hoopoole, IL American Legion; the Rock Falls, IL VFW and the D.A.V.

Surviving is his wife, Christine Rhoades Hosch; his sons: Rickie K. (Sara) HoschJr of East Dubuque, IL, Jesse J. (Melissa) Hosch of East Dubuque, IL and Anthony Hosch; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his half-brother Larry Marshall.

A gathering of friends and family will take place on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 3-5 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 46 Grove Street – IL Route 78 North in Prophetstown, IL. A memorial service will be held later in Dubuque, IA

Memorials in lieu of flowers to the Wounded Warrior Project in his memory would be appreciated.
