STERLING - Orville E. Kuehl, 91, of Sterling, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. He farmed for many years in the area.

Orville was born Oct. 13, 1924, in Sterling, the son of Carl andEffie (Dykemia) Kuehl. He served in the Navy during World War II. He married Loretta Yonk in 1943. He was a member of NFO, Whiteside County Drainage Commission, and St. Paul Lutheran Church inSterling.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl A. (Ray Knutson) Marshall of Rockford and Lorie (Jerry) Miller of Dixon; two sisters, Ruth Reed and Beth (Les) Renkes, both of Morrison; one brother-in-law, Lyle McDonald of Morrison; six grandchildren, Kimberli (Jim) Cain of Rockford, Dana (Jamie) Roser of California, Shawn (Becky) Chaffee and Corey (Autumn) Chaffee, both of Moline, and Dawn (John) Kautz and Eric Kuehl, both of Ohio; one step-granddaughter, Valerie Miller of Maryland; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Loretta in 2010; his son, Deryl; one sister, Marge McDonald; and one brother, Harvey Kuehl.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, and the funeral at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sterling with the Rev. Brandon Nelson, pastor, officiating Burial with military honors will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling. Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling is handling arrangements.

A memorial has been established.
