OBITUARY - Maurine M. VanDeMark

Maurine M. VanDeMark, 99, of 340 Tree Ln., Prophetstown, died Thur., Jan. 18, 1996 at the home of her son. A Mass of Christian Burial will be  11:00 A.M. Monday in St. Catherine's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Dan Peters, officiating. Friends may call at the Gardner Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:30 P.M. when a Rosary will be recited.

Maurine was born June 5, 1896, in Tampico, the daughter of Pleasant and Bridget Burke Maxfield. She graduated from Tampico H.S. and on Oct. 14, 1919, was united in marriage to F. Vernon VanDeMaark. He died on October 6, 1974.

Maurine worked at the former Federated Store in Prophetstown until she and Vernon moved to Dayton Ohio in 1951. While in Dayton, she worked at the Rikes Dept. Store. The couple returned to Prophetstown in 1965.

Mrs. VanDeMark was a member of St. Catherine's and the Altar & Rosary Society.

Survivors are Allan & Rita VanDeMark, Marjorie VanDeMark, Jon Doughlas VanDeMark, Carol Hillary, Becky Eckett and 6 great-grandchildren.
