Mary Nelle HillMARY NELLE HILL, 90, of Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, died Saturday November 17, 2018 at the center.



Her funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Prophetstown United Methodist Church with a visitation to be held prior, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Rev. Mark Meyer will officiate. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown. The Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Nelle was born July 18, 1928 in Tampico, IL to Charles “Bert” and Beulah (Patton) Satterfield. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a graduate of Prophetstown High School. She married Leamon D. Hill on October 6, 1946 in Prophetstown. He died January 14, 2012. Mary Nelle was employed by Cal Schuneman at his insurance agency, and later as his legislative aide. She was a member of Prophetstown United Methodist Church, where she was the church organist for 25 years, sang in the choir and also served on various committees. She was an avid cook and baker and enjoyed traveling with her husband, Leamon, following their retirement. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Memorials have been established to Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center and Prophetstown United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Marilee Liter of Jacksonville, IL, Sue Galambos of Aledo, IL and Jane (Richard) Mumm of Des Moines, IA; six grandchildren, Carissa (Cory) Heine, Amy (Sean) Evans, Justin (Karlene Lawson) Galambos, Luke (Stephanie) Galambos, Adam (Andrea) Mumm and Mark Mumm; ten great grandchildren, Maddie and Macy Heine, Cole, Natalie and Bella Evans, Kain Galambos, Kate and Dylan Galambos, Audrey and Abigail Mumm. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leamon; two grandsons, Jason and Scott Liter, two sisters, Virginia Meier and Frances Klockenga.
