Russell D. “Bud” Coers Sr., 95 of Tampico, died Monday June 24, 2019 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

He was born on April 7, 1924 in Tampico son of Earl and Mylred (McCaslin) Coers. He married Josephine Price on September 2, 1944 in Rock Falls. She died February 19, 2016. Russell had farmed and then was a truck driver for many years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tampico and enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include two sons: Russell Coers Jr of Tampico and Lester (Sandy) Coers of Savanna;  three daughters: Judy Cox of Rock Falls, Ann (John) Schlosser of Polo and Donna (Richard) Schlosser of Tampico;; one brother John (Pat) Coers of Deer Grove; 16 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and many great greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son Gary Coers; one sister Arlene Koekue; two brothers: Francis and Harold Coers; and two sister in laws: Jo and Noreen Coers.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5/7PM at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. The funeral will follow on Thursday at 10 AM in the funeral home. Burial will conclude at Tampico Memorial Cemetery.
