CHARLENE A. NANCE, 82, of Prophetstown, IL, died Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown.

 

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Lyndon Township Cemetery in Lyndon, IL. There will be no visitation and cremation rites have been accorded. The Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home is assisting the family. A memorial to Winning Wheels in Prophetstown has been established.

Charlene was born January 23, 1937, in Chicago, IL, to Charles and Margaret (Ramsdorff) Andres. She was educated in the Chicago Public Schools and later received her LPN degree from Sauk Valley Community College. Charlene married Raymond E. Nance on February 9, 1952, in Piggott, AR. He died December 19, 2014. Charlene was employed at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison, IL and Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown as a LPN. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness in Como, IL and volunteered at local food pantries.

Survivors include four sons, Randel Nance of Rapids City, IL; Steven Nance of Dubuque, IA; Thomas Nance and Mark Nance both of Prophetstown, IL; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia (Herman) Chapman of Denver, CO.

She was preceded in death by father, Charles Andres; her mother, Margaret Andres Watson; her stepfather, Robert Watson; her husband, Raymond; two daughters, Sharlene Johnson and Victoria Poulos; two sisters, Marcia Frendel and Patsy Andres in infancy; one brother, Charles Andres in infancy.
