The Tampico Tornado
October 27, 1894

The funeral of Dominick McGuire, of Deer Grove, took place here last Sunday, and was attended by a large concourse of people who followed his remains to their resting place in St. Mary's cemetery. The young man was kicked by a horse last August, but from all appearances it was thought he was getting well and his recovery was expected. Last Friday he went out riding and when getting from the buggy at  his home he was taken with spasms and died that evening. His skull was fractured and the brain exposed and it is thought that the jarring of the ride displaced some particle of bone which pressed upon the brain, causing death.
