(As reported in the Daily Gazette, Vol. 146 - No. 189, Sept. 4, 2002) OXFORD, Ala. - Kenneth C. Shearer, 90, of Oxford, Ala. formerly of Tampico, IL, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002 at Regional Medical Center, Oxford, AL. He was employed by Douglas Aircraft................. Mr. Shearer was born April 30, 1912 in Henry, the son of Cleve and Helen Shearer. He was a 1952 graduate of Tampico High School. He married Claire James in 1958........ Survivors include his wife - three sons: Cleve (Rebecca) of Bonner's Ferry, Idaho. Bruce (Joanne) of Oxford, Ala. and Gerald (Dana) of Anchorage, Alaska, three sisters: Bonnie Cox of Annawan (IL), Ardis (Frances) Foes of Mineral an Jerria (Kenneth) Baumgartner of OH, a brother, Wells (Barb) Shearer of Colona, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Eugene and three in infancy, three sisters: Lucille Dodd, Marjorie Anderson and Mary Drago. Gravesite service is at 11 a.m., Friday at Ogreeta Cemetery, Murphy, N.C. Arrangements were completed by Townson-Rose Funeral Home, Murphy, N.C.
