Elise Vandenberg

EUREKA - Elise D. Vandenberg, 90, of Eureka, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, at Maple Lawn Health Care Center, Eureka, after an extended illness. She and her husband owned Vandenberg Paint Co., Dixon.

She was born Dec. 26, 1915, in Whiteside County, the daughter of John and Laura (Hinrichs) Eilers. She married Albert P. Vandenberg on Sept. 7, 1940, in Dixon. He died June 14, 1988.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Vandenberg White of Peoria; two sons, James Vandenberg of Florida and Dennis (Beth) Vandenberg of Jupiter, Fla.; four grandchildren, Benjamin and Thomas (Tammy) White and Morgan and Albert Vandenberg; and three great-grandchildren, Aeron, Breanna and Conner White.

She also was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Joyce; and a brother, Donald Eilers.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Dixon, with the Rev. LaVerne Davenport officiating. Burial is at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements were completed by Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Dixon.

A memorial has been established to Maple Lawn Health Care Center, Eureka.
