Donald F. Mungor, age 74, of 408 Whitver Street in Walnut, died Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at his home in Walnut.

He was born on November 18, 1932, in Walnut, Illinois, the son of Ralph and Mary (Taylor) Mungor. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Underwood on September 7, 1952 in Princeton, Illinois. He was employed at Homeway Corporation for 11 years. Then he and his wife owned and operated the Tastee Freez in Walnut for 22 years and they retired in 1996. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He also enjoyed his winter trips to Florida.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis of Walnut, Illinois; three daughters, Lana (Don) Hoge of Lena, Illinois, Vicky (Thomas) Dixon of Tiskilwa, Illinois, Pamela (Aaron) Groen of Diamond City, Arkansas; two sons, Russell (Kathy) Mungor of Walnut, Illinois, Curtis Mungor of LaMoille, Illinois; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one brother Burton (Letha) Mungor of Walnut, Illinois and one nephew Michael Mungor of Cherry Valley, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Donnie, one grandson Kyle, and one sister Shirley Clark.

Cremation rites were accorded. Private memorial services were conducted on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut, with Pastor Pearle Lange officiating. A MEMORIAL HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED IN HIS MEMORY TO ROCK RIVER VALLEY HOSPICE.
