Mrs. Peter C. JOHNSON of Thomas, Ill., passed away on Sunday, October 12, 1930 at Clear View Sanitarium, Davenport, Ia. For several years Mrs. JOHNSON had been in failing health and her death was not wholly unexpected.

The body was brought to her home and a funeral service was held from the house at 1 p.m. Thursday in charge of Rev. DeVot, pastor of the Christian church of New Bedford, Ill. Interment was in the Sheffield cemetery.

Eva Valerie daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard F. STEWART was born in Delaware County, Ia., May 7, 1882and passed away October 12, 1930, being 48 years of age.

At the age of 13 years she came with her parents to Illinois. She was united in marriage to Peter C. JOHNSON on June 14. 1898. She is survived by her husband and five children, Lillie Mae, Everett L., Wilbert T., Vernon Francis and Lester E., all at home. Two sisters, Mrs. A. P. BOE, of Finley, N. D.; and Miss Ruby A. STEWART of Lodore, Colo., and two brothers, Roy R. of Independence, Ia., and Claude C. of Chicago, Ill.

Early in life Mrs. JOHNSON made a public confession of her faith in Christ Jesus. She was a kind, loving and industrious wife and mother. Truly it may be said of her, "She hath done what she could."
