Willard “Bill” A. Jensen Jr., age 63, of 203 5th Street Walnut, Illinois died Thursday, April 12, 2007, at his home in Walnut.

Bill was born on May 4, 1943 in New Bedford, Illinois, the son of Willard and Evelyn (Fritz) Jensen. He was united in marriage to Geneva Grant on July 8, 1967 in Walnut, Illinois. He worked for the Village of Walnut for 32 ½ years serving as Walnut Chief of Police for 31 years. He also drove a school bus for 30 years. He was on the Illinois Valley Crime Commission for many years, served on the Advisory Board and Elective Board, and Illinois Chief of Police . He was also a I Search Executive Board Member and a member of the Sterling Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife Geneva of Walnut, Illinois, two sons, Douglas (Brenda) Jensen of Bureau, Illinois, Willard “Bill” (Linda) Jensen III of New Bedford, Illinois, two daughters, Dixi Hill of Walnut, Illinois, Donna (Kevin) Scanlan of Tampico, Illinois, seven grandchildren, Austin Jensen, Natasha Jensen, Evan Scanlan, Riley Scanlan, Caden Scanlan, Cody Hill and, Savanah Jensen; one sister Lois (Ron) Kenny of Erie, Illinois; one brother Allen (Kim) Jensen of Sheffield, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.

A Memorial service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut, with the Rev. Dan Wilder, pastor of St. John’s Catholic Church of Walnut, officiating. There will be no visitation. Cremation rites were accorded and burial of cremains will be in Walnut Cemetery. A MEMORIAL HAS BEEN ESTABLSISHED IN HIS MEMORY.
