Glen Ferguson

 

            Glen R. Ferguson, 90, of Lyndon died Thursday, May 25, 2006 at his home.  He was employed by Wahl Clipper, Sterling, as a tool maker for 29 years; and owned Ferguson Cycle, Sterling for many years.

            Mr. Ferguson was born Nov. 1, 1915, in Sterling, the son of Homer and Hazel (Wolf) Ferguson.  He married Dorothy Frank on May 10, 1938, in Sterling.  She preceded him in death.

            He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sterling, Ducks Unlimited, Sinnissippi Rod and Gun Club, Rock River Riders and Civil Air Patrol.

            Survivors include a sister, Janet (Harold) Janssen of Sterling; four nephews, Randy (Donna) Ohda, and Larry (Judy) Colberg, both of Rock Falls, Stephen Mathews of Sterling and Tim (Lori) Mathews of Round Grove; a niece, Sarah (Gene) LeFevre of Rock Falls; a sister-in-law, Ann Scheinenan of Sterling; a special daughter, Sandy Shierry of Lyndon; and a special son, George Shierry of Lyndon.

            He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Colberg; and two brothers, Burton Ferguson and Wayne Ferguson.

            Memorial services were held Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sterling, with the Rev. Leo Patterson officiating.  Arrangements were completed by McDonald Funeral Homes.

            In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
