Laurie Lee Matthews

 

            Laurie Lee Matthews, 57, of Lyndon, IL died Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at her home.  Services were held October 28 at the First Lutheran Church, Prophetstown, where she was a member.  Burial followed in Lyndon Cemetery.  Visitation was held before the services at the church.  A memorial fund has been established for the First Lutheran Church.  The Gibson & Son Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

            Laurie was born July 16, 1948 in Morrison, IL, the daughter of Lauren and Alda (Bollman) Matthews.  She was a graduate of Prophetstown High School.

            Laurie along with her mother, operated the very popular Alda’s Café in Lyndon for many years. 

            She is survived by her mother, Alda VanBerg, Lyndon; father, Lauren Matthews, Prophetstown; sister-in-law, Virginia Matthews, Sandwich, IL; niece, Susan (Mrs. Chris) Wolf; nephew, Alan (Claire) Matthews; aunts, cousins and many dear friends who supported her through her illness.
