Kathryn Morse

 

            Kathryn “Kay” Morse, 81, of Hooppole died Thursday, June 30, 2005 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa.

            She was employed by Penberthy Manufacturing, Prophetstown, as the purchasing manager for many years until retiring.

            Mrs. Morse was born July 31, 1923, in Yorktown Township, the daughter of Albert and Mae (Bakei) Heitzler.  She married Robert Morse on May 8, 1948, in East Moline.  He died Oct. 15, 1979.

            Survivors include 10 nieces and nephews, including Pam Stoudt and Tom Church, both of Prophetstown; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

            She was preceded in death by a sister, Luella church; two brothers, Harold and Leo Heitzler; and two great-nieces.

            The funeral was held July 4 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hooppole.  Burial was at Hooppole Cemetery.  A visitation and rosary were held July 3 at the church.  Arrangements were completed by Gibson Funeral Home, Erie.

            A memorial has been established.
