Loretta Bolhous

 

            Loretta E. Bolhous, age 82, of Prophetstown, died Sunday, June 12, 2005 at CGH Medial Center, Sterling.

            Funeral services will be Thursday, June 16, 2005 at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Prophetstown with Reverend Sandy Harbour officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesda, June 15, 2005 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Prophetstown.  Burial will conclude the services at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown.

            In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her memory.

            Mrs. Bolhous was born October 10, 1922 in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of Richard and Dorothy (Hammer) Wolfram.  She graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1940.  She married Claire Bolhous on February 5, 1944 in Davenport, Iowa.  She was actively engaged in farming with her husband for 42 years and retired in 1989.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Prophetstown, a 50 year member of the Eastern Star (Minerva Chapter) and she loved nature.

            Survivors include her husband, Claire Bolhous of Prophetstown; one daughter, Barbara (John) Meyers of Palatine; one son, Paul (Pat) Bolhous of Lynn Center; one sister, Dorothy (Phil) Williamson of Edina, MN; and four grandchildren, Meghan Meyers of Lake Elsinore, CA, Matthew Meyers of Palatine, Nathan Bolhous of Lynn Center and Collin Bolhous of Lynn Center.

            She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard Wolfram.
