Carl Anderson

 

            Carl Anderson, 77, died Saturday, January 8, 2005 at Prophets Riverview Nursing Home in Prophetstown.

            Carl was born on November 3, 1927 in Morrison, IL the son of Louis and Ella (Nelson) Anderson.  He married Jeanne Rose on September 12, 1948 in Morrison.  She died September 27, 2004.  Mr. Anderson was a lifelong farmer having farmed in the Morrison, Rock Falls, and Cordova area.  He was also employed as a driver for Elwyn Nice Trucking of Morrison and the Prophetstown State Park for several years.  He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Prophetstown.  Mr. Anderson served fifteen years on the Erie School Board, was a member of the Lions Club of Albany and Moose Lodge in Clinton.

            Surviving are four daughters, Ellen (Kenneth) Pannier, Carla (Victor) Leal, Amanda and Ingrid Anderson all of Prophetstown; three sons, Eric (Linda) Anderson of Morrison, James (Teresa) Anderson of Davenport, IA and Joel (Sue) Anderson of Knoxville, IL; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren.

            He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers, Kenneth and Glenn Anderson.  

            Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at the First Lutheran Church in Prophetstown with the Rev. Greg Olson pastor officiating.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown.  Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Prophetstown. 
            A memorial education fund has been established for Amanda and Ingrid Anderson.
