Hubert L. Francis

 

            Hubert L. Francis, 90, of Lyndon, died Thursday, January 26, 2006 at Four Seasons Living Center, Morrison.  Funeral services were held Monday, January 30 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosmas Renkes Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Ploenzke, pastor of the Lyndon United Methodist Church officiated.  A Memorial has been established to the Lyndon United Methodist Church, Lyndon, IL.

            Hubert was born Sept. 29, 1915 in Lyndon, IL to Tommy P. and Jessie (Brewer) Francis.  He was reared and educated in Lyndon Grade School, Lyndon; graduated from High School in San Bernadino, CA.  He married Marie A. Wierenga on February 22, 1938 in Clinton, IA.  She survives.  He was engaged in farming the rural Lyndon, IL area his entire life.  Also, was employed by the Eclipse Lawn Mower Company, Prophetstown IL.  He was a member of the Lyndon United Methodist Church and served as a trustee; Past Board Member of Lyndon High School; Member of Whiteside Rural Youth Program; Served as a 4-H Leader for Lyndon Loyal Leaders.

            Survivors include: His wife, Marie; one daughter, Linda (Mrs. Larry) Vos, Prophetstown, IL; two sons, Ronald (Florence) Francis, Prophetstown, Jerry (Debra) Francis, Lyndon; 10 grandchildren; Kari (Mrs. Matt) Smith, Teri (Mrs. Randy) Rosenow, Ronald Francis, Caron (Mrs. John) Wilson, Jolyn (Mrs. Brian) Cox; Courtney (Mrs. Ron) Bender, Lena (Mrs. Bill) Wilson, Aurelie Francis, Lisa (Mrs. Jerry) Stuart, Lori Davis; 17 great grandchildren; one sister, Bernice (Mrs. Warren) Buck, Seattle, WA; two nephews, Steven (Jeanette) Buck, Seattle, WA, Gerald (Maury) Buck, Seattle, WA.

            He was preceded in death by one son, Arman Francis.
