Solemn Requiem Mass For Mrs. Agnes W. Hermes
 
Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes H. Hermes, 711 Locust street, were held Saturday morning at  nine o'clock in St. Mary Catholic church, Sterling, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Joseph J. Mullen of St. Mary's seminary, Cleveland, Ohio, sang the solemn requiem mass.  The Rev. David Murphy of Harmon served as deacon, and the Rev. Burwell E. Beddoes of Rock Falls was sub-deacon.  The Rev. Kenneth Shuman of Cincinnati, O., was masteer of ceremonies.
 
Present in the sanctuary for the mass were Arch Bishop Leo Binz, arch bishop of Dubuque, Ia., Rt. Rev. Msgr. A. J. Burns, Father Driscoll of Dubuque, Ia., Rev. T. L. Walsh of St. Charles and Rev. John Vaughn of Prophetstown.
 
Arch Bishop Binz delivered the sermon and Monsignor Mullen conducted the gravesite rites in St. Mary's cemetery, Tampico. The pallbearers were John Ryan, Joseph Ward, O. L. McGinn, John Drew, William McKeown and Clarence Bauer.  Many beautiful floral tributes were taken care of by Lawrence Burke, James Ryan and Miss Mary Ryan, T. J. O'Brien was usher at the church.
 
Out of town attendants at the rites were Sister Rita Rose, Sisters of Loretto, Lebanan, Ky., sister Mary Mathilda, Sisters of Loretto, Loretto, Ky., Sister Mary Sacred Heart and Sister Mary Rita, Sisters of St. Joseph, LaGrange, Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Brennan of Sioux City, Ia., Misses Frances and Elizabeth Savage and Mrs. Hugh Savage of Chicago, Miss Esther Smith, Mrs. George McFadden, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carmody and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Mullen of Cleveland, Ohio.
 
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Butterfield and daughter of Pecatonica, Miss Helen Grobens of Freeport, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Grobens of Rockford, Eugene Currans of Joliet, and Miss Margaret Doherty of Lincoln.
