Herbert K. Steinke, Mount Carroll, Dies
 
Tampico: - Herbert K. Steinke, 62, of Mount Carroll, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 30.  He had been ill during the past two years.
 
The body was removed to the Parent funeral chapel in Tampico, where funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock.  Rev. William Boland, pastor of st. Andrew's Catholic church of Rock Falls will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery at Tampico. 
 
The Rosary will be recited at the funeral chapel tonight at 8 o'clock.
 
He was born in Hahnaman township, July 20, 1886, a son of Gustave and Catherine Steinke. He was educated in the Deer Grove school.
 
Mr. Steinke had lived in the Tampico vicinity until 1939, when he moved to the junction of Routes 78 and 92, where he operated a service station until 1945.
 
He was united in marriage to Lois Brown at Pine City, Minn., in 1945.  They resided in Carroll county where he farmed until 1955, when he retired and moved to Mount Carroll.
 
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Susan; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Darby of Tampico, and Mrs. Charles Welch of Galesburg;  two brothers, Joseph of Joliet, and Lawrence of Deer Grove.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles and John, and one sister, Mrs. Charles (Agnes) Green.
