Christopher Kirst, 64, Tampico, Passes Away
 
Tampico: - Christopher Kirst, 64, passed away Thursday at his home, following an extended heart illness.
 
The body was removed to the Parent Chapel where friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday.  The rosary will be recited at the chapel at 3 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the chapel at 10 a.m.Monday, with the Rev. A. M. Weitekamkp, pastor of St. Mary's Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
 
He was born April 23, 1896, in Chicago, a son of Philip and Elizabeth Hill Kirst.  He was educated in Chicago and for the past 45 years resided in Tampico.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 574 in Tampico.
 
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Lillian Messenger, Aurora; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Grace Kirst, Tampico.
 
He was preceded by his parents, two brothers, Michael of Dixon and John of Tampico; one sister, Mrs. Barbara Cook of Tampico, and two brothers in infancy.

Christopher Kirst Rites Held Monday
 
Tampico: - Funeral services were held for Christopher P. Kurst Monday morning in the Parent Chapel with the Rev. A. M. Westkamp of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating.
 
Military services were conducted at St. Mary's cemetery by Tampico American Legion and VFW Posts.
Holger Peterson, Grover Rosene, everett Bollivar, Harry Rice, claude Johnson, Fred J. Heerens served as pallbearers.
