Ben Martin Tornow, Near Tampico, Dies
Tampico: - Ben Martin Tornow, 57, died at his home northwest of Tampico early this morning. Death was due to a heart attack.
The body was removed to the Parent Funeral Chapel in Tampico.  Funeral services will be conducted at the chapel Monday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Henry Holverson, pastor of the Tampico First Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in the Lyndon Cemetery.
Mr. Tornow was born in Bureau County on Oct. 3, 1902, the son of John Fred and Frederika Tornow.  He attended Tampico schools.  He was married to Marie Gerdes on Dec. 15, 1937, in Clinton, Ia.  He had lived in Tampico his entire lifetime.
Survivors are his widow, two sons, Martin and La Verne, both at home;  three brothers, John, William and Carl, all of Tampico; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
