Charles Turner Rites To Be Held On Friday
 
Tampico: - Charles Elmer Turner, 77, passed away Tuesday in the Ravenswood Hospital in Chicago, following an illness of three months.  He was a former Tampico resident.
 
He was born in Hope Township, Lasalle County, Ill., on Oct. 2, 1884, the son of Charles Henry and Sarah Jane Turner.  He lived in Tampico for 19 years and then moved to Chicago where he was a taxi driver until 1960 when he retired.
 
Surviving is one brother, Homer of Sterling.
 
He was preceded in death by one brother, John and two sisters, Mrs. H. J. (Irene) Brill in 1931 and Hattie in 1954.
 
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Schmitt Chapel in Tampico. Burial will be in the Tampico Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:30 Thursday.
