ALBERT FORWARD

TAMPICO - ALBERT L. FORWARD, 81, OF 2128 Tampico Road, Tampico, died June 15, 1994, at  Sterling Pavilion Nursing Home, Sterling.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Garland Funeral Home, Tampico, with the Rev. Mary Ann Kvapil, pastor of Tampico United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Tampico Memorial Cemetery Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established.

Albert was born July 29, 1912, in Mt. Hope, Kan., the son of Clair and Ethel Forward. He married Ethel M. "Bobbie" Etherton Dec. 23, 1950 in Geneva. He farmed for 16 years in Hammond. He moved to Tampico in 1949 and farmed in Tampico until retirement in 1985. He organized the first fire district in the State of Illinois at Hammond and also organized the Tampico Fire District. He was drainage commissioner in Hammond for 14 years and in Tampico for 40 years until 1941. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners.

Survivors include his wife of Tampico; one sister, Verna Retzlaff of Sterling; one niece; one great-niece; one great-nephew; and several great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Dean.
