EDWARD  C.  MORSE
 
Prophetstown: - Edward C. Morse, 94, 310 Mosher Drive, Prophetstown, died Wednesday in his home.
 
Funeral services will be1:30 p.m. Friday at the Zion United Methodist Church in Hooppole. The Rev. Arthur Ferguson, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in the Hooppole Cemetery. There is no visitation.
A memorial fund has been established to the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
 
Edward Morse was born May 31, 1889 in Leona, Kan., moving to Hooppole at the age of four.  His parents are Clifford and Margaret (Brants) Morse. He was educated in Ringle Schools.
 
He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, Hooppole, and had farmed in the Hooppole Community except for 12 years spent in Florida, retiring to Prophetstown in 1974.
 
He married Mabel Wiederhold in Sterling in 1921.  She preceded him in death in 1941.  He married Ruth Trautwein on July 27, 1957 in Dixon. She died in 1978.
 
Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Kathryn Morse, Hooppole; and one sister, Mrs. Mayme Wilson, Sandwich.  He was preceded in death by one son, Robert.
